Oldbury Writing Group’s Book Reading for the West Bromwich at War Exhibition

By Percy Eamus

A small audience joined us for readings by all of our members of our newly launched publication From Sunrise to Sunset an anthology themed on World War Two. It proved an advantage to be small since many members were not well versed in public speaking. Angie gave an introduction and then all members in turn read a selection of their work from the book.

The event went well and our guest speaker Ian Henery performed some of his own work again very professionally and with style, a vote of thanks for this example of how to make an impact. Nicole has improved her presentational skills to a very high standard, and Dave performed well. Andy, of course, would have had to request the removal of any minors before his typical earthy work was read.

Our thanks are extended to the staff and users of West Bromwich library and to Brendon Jackson for proposing and arranging sponsorship of the event.
